HOW TO TEACH THE RHYTHM

Last week, I made a work about how to teach rhythm:

We know that the differences between english rhythm and spanish rhythm is that English is stress-timed rhythm. When there is a stress word, the speaker increases the volume of their voice.
The sound of unstress syllables is “schwa”
Spanish is syllable-t¡med stress. The syllable have the same intonation.

We can teach the rhythm throuth nursery rhymes:
The nursery rhymes are texts with rhyme, like that, songs and short poems.
For example:

Rain is like train without a T.
East is like beast without a B.
Love is like glove without a G.
Hair is like chair without a C.

THE CONTENT WORDS AND FUNCTIONAL WORDS ARE:

The content words are the stress words, like that, noums, verbs adjetives, adverbs.
1 step: In a song the pupils underline the stress words.
The funcion words are the unstress words, like that, article, prepositions, auxiliary verbs and pronouns.
2 step: The teacher explain them that there are unstress words.
Some words have strong and weak forms in different contexts.
3 step: The teacher puts examples the word, such as, “and” or “of” in different contexts.

HOW TO TEACH THE STRESS PATERN:

The students listen these words:
Sunday, pencil, motor.
The teacher says this stress patterns: “dadi, dadi, dadi”.
And he puts the emphasis in the “da” and he indicates the rhyme with his hand.
Later, the teacher writes the words in the blackboard and he point to the accents of different ways:
Example: Sunday, pencil, MOtor.
